may 28, 2011...

on durham's actual birthday, mccoy and i baked two mini cakes for the boys...since my other camera didn't work for the rest of the cake pictures, we decided to recreate it...

someone stealing some icing!
"ooohhhhh..."
"yes...it's all mine!"
"okay mom, one picture!"
"okay, maybe one more!"
do i really need to write anything for this!

they were so cute eating their cake...what i didn't count on was durham, being covered in icing, deciding he was done with it and crawled all over the kitchen floor, dragging the icing right behind him...i guess it was time to mop the floors anyway!

durham's first birthday!

(so i wrote this post a month ago, and i was planning on adding more pictures from a different camera but that camera has failed to produce...so here is durham's party over a month ago!)

happy first birthday sweet durham!!!

we actually had his party 10 days ago since we had several family members in town! it was so relaxing just having family, his godparents and nanny at our house to celebrate him!  plus, the weather was absolutely wonderful!

i decided to use golds and oranges with black and cream chevron and polka dots as the decor...with mccoy, i always tend to use teals and greens and oranges, so it was nice to change it up!
our sunroom...
the birthday boy and me!
i had decided to put pictures of durham's first year everywhere...i started with a clothesline of twine to display a 5x7 of each month...this was so hard picking out just one picture to represent a month, but i loved how they turned out...

months 1 and 2
3 and 4
5 and 6
7 and 8
9 and 10
11 and 12
i also decided to have a photo booth...i collected all of these funny faces and mustaches...my brother sent me a whole package of stuff off of etsy...unfortunately, we all got so busy talking and having fun that we forgot to take any photos...but i did manage to have my dad take durham and mine's photo before the party started!

i love this sweet guy...such a ham!

papa and durham
the food set up...we decided to go for more of a southern theme...brisket, cornbread salad, shrimp salad, tea sandwiches...

yum yum!
ashlee, his nanny...she has been such a blessing in our lives!
mommy and the boys
everyone came to town including uncle p
durham's godmother, lynne
the birthday cake!  i had so much fun making this...and i am not a baker!  we never really ever have any baked goodies around the house, but for some reason, i love making the boy's birthday cakes!
i guess the candle got his attention...
first bite!

sadly, this is were my other camera took over and i can not seem to find it....oh well!

birthday boys!

here are the birthday boys...only this is mccoy two years ago
these are the pictures i used for their first birthday invitations,
so they are both about 11 months old

it's fun to see how different they are!  i can't believe that we are actually having durham's first birthday next week...it's actually 10 days early but family is all in town so it works great this way!  can't wait to post pictures!!!

easter fun

for easter, we headed down to dallas...the weather was so nice, and the boys love strolling around to look at all the ducks that hang out at lucky and papa's house

a rare picture of me and the boys... you get what you can take!
a little photo shoot with durham while mccoy was sleeping

we dyed easter eggs on the patio, but this year, i used kool-aid to dye them...i found it off pinterest and it was so simple...not smelly at all and mccoy loved pouring the packets into the cups...every time we buy eggs now, he wants to "paint" them
later, we played in a grassy area
playing some catch...so proud of himself!
this looks like a scene from the master's...he looks too cute in his shirt from g daddy
oh yeah!!!
easter morning, the easter bunny left mccoy and durham some nice little treats...
he also hid some eggs around the house...mccoy was off and running
our little family after church
cousin austin hanging out with mccoy
durham's turn with austin and drew
all the boys...this is going to be a wild bunch!
as far as our boys go, this was as close together as i could get them...mccoy likes his space
individuals were great though...
cheese...
oh, sweet face or sugar bear as burt calls him
what a wonderful easter!
our next trip, the boys and i are off to tulsa to see auntie b, gracie and g daddy
