then, it was off to the swings...first, i sat him in my lap in the regular swings...he wasn't too sure of that...but then he got to be in his own...wheeeeeee
back and forth...

i love this sweet smile!

whenever we first get to hot springs, gracie takes mccoy straight down to the lake to visit all of the ducks...it is so sweet to see them walking around the point...gracie loves telling him all about the ducks and geese...now, mccoy is pointing at everything and "dat"...we have decided that he is asking us "what is that?" now, every morning, we have a run through of all the stuffed animals in his room...mccoy "dat, dat, dat"...mommy "dog, monkey, giraffe"...back to hot springs, we went down to visit, but also so gracie and grandaddy could watch mccoy while burt and i went to the razorback game in little rock!

grandaddy grilling some cornish hens!

burt and gracie discussing their football picks for the weekend... look at those hens!

getting ready for the game..."dat?"..."that's a camera!"

a little tickle time!

at the tailgate...

when we were walking toward the tailgate, we happened to walk right through where the players were coming in...all of a sudden, we realized that we were the only ones walking down the street with cheerleaders on one side of us and fans on the other! finally, we ducked to the side and saw them all walk through!

burt and i have been together almost 9 years, and this was the first time that we actually tailgated together in little rock...we have gone to the lsu games in the past but never tailgated with friends...we had a great time, but we definitely love fayetteville better! can't wait until alabama...woohoo!!!

visit with great grandmother emily

when we were down in hot springs, we got to see great grandmother emily, or g.g. emily...we stopped by her house for a little lovin'...found something that caught his eye...

yay! a plate full of rocks!!!

mccoy had fun throwing them and banging them together and then finally tried to eat them!

luckily, we caught him!

love investigating new houses!

our labor day!

our labor day weekend was jammed packed! normally, we just schedule one or two things to do, but this weekend, it was one or two things a day!!! friday night started off with a stroll around the fayetteville square-in and out of stores...then it was off to sassy's to eat on there patio! then saturday, we packed up a picnic and headed to the park for a walk and lunch...then our babysitter came over, and burt and i headed off to tailgate and the game! we actually got to go out afterwards with our friends, barry and bob! on sunday morning, burt and i went to brunch before going to see the 'blue man' group...i had seen them in las vegas before, but it was burt's first time to see them...if anybody hasn't seen them, i highly recommend it!!! after the performance, we scooped up mccoy and the puppies for a mini-vacation at burt's parents lakehouse...they were out of town, so we kind of took over the place...on the road... burt grilling dinner!
the next day, we took a trip on the boat...mccoy is finally getting used to the lifejacket...he actually cruised around the boat alittle bit!
mccoy sometimes loves wearing his sunglasses...i think only when we are wearing ours
getting used to his sealegs!
munching on some pizza...
more pizza!
hope everyone had a wonderful labor day weekend!

mccoy updates...

oh, our little man...mccoy is now 14 months and a week old! he is such a cutie-pa-tootie...as you can tell in this picture, he is still not walking yet...but i am completely okay with that...i hear all of these stories of kids his age climbing all over furniture and jumping off coffee tables, and i will admit, i'm just not ready for that...i know one day it will come but not today! so this is how he gets around...always something in his right hand with his right foot propped up, then he's off...eating is another story...he is such a great eater and loves, loves, loves fruit...he loves showing us how he can eat a whole peach by himself...it is the messiest thing ever but so cute...his favorite foods are any kind of meat (hamburger, pork chops, steak, hot dogs, etc.) and fruit (blackberries, peaches, strawberries, bananas, kiwi, and the list goes on...)...veggies, he will eat but not on the top of his list...peas are the best...recently, he had one of mommy's animal crackers with ice cream on it...and was in heaven! now, every time he sees the bag of crackers, he starts to shake with excitement!

we are so excited about fall getting closer that we busted out the first pair of jeans...it's been too hot up until now...they were alittle long for now!
he also loves holding his own sippy cup...i can definitely tell a big difference since he has started mother's day out in his independence level...he is starting to like to do more things on his own...but also since school started, he has become the biggest snuggler!
here he is with his friend, ike...he has to hold as many stuffies, or friends as we call them, as he can at one time...he will grab all 5 of his sock monkeys and bury his head in them and laugh...it is so sweet watching him...
he also loves, loves, loves playing hide and seek...around coffee tables, chairs, he even plays it with the dogs while he's in between our legs...
peek-a-boo!
he loves to get all of his books out of the bookcase and then try to find one for us to read to him...then halfway through, he likes to take the book and throw it...this is a new one for us, throwing! he also likes to play in his crib for hours...for his second nap, he will rub his eyes at 1:45, so i put him down...then he plays for an hour in his bed, then i change his diaper, then he plays in there some more until he finally goes to sleep around 3:30 until 5...crazy! but he still goes to bed at 7:30 every night like a champ! i can't wait to see what the next week brings us...who knows, maybe this is week he will walk...or maybe just start off sprinting!

happy birthday max!

last saturday, we headed to max clark's 2nd birthday! we had such a great time, and mccoy loved the giant water thingy-ma-jig...he never quite made it down the slide, but he held up his post at the side very well!

mccoy and max always have fun together...i didn't get any pictures, but they had fun splashing each other and being boys!

boys will be boys...

one day while i was in the kitchen, this is were i found mccoy...

eventually, he was even trying to stuff the toliet paper back into the roll...

another day, we tried out noodles for the first time...they ended up more fun to play with instead of eating...

then at lucky and papa's house, we had spaghetti for the first time...he had so much fun with it even though this face doesn't seem so...

i'm not even sure why i put a bib on him!
